Mary V. Gelinas, Ed.D. is former Senior Organization Consultant and employee owner at IA. She was a major contributor to IA’s first product licensing system that distributed IA IP to hundreds of companies across North America.

Mary has more than 40 years of experience as an organization development consultant, process designer, facilitator, educator, thinking partner, and author. She is a Managing Director of Gelinas James, Inc. and with Roger James, Mary is co-director of the Cascadia Center for Leadership, a program of the Humboldt Area Foundation in Bayside, California.

Mary helps leaders in organizations and communities create their desired futures through innovative, collaborative, and practical approaches that are based in the behavioral and brain sciences.  

A few of Mary’s recent clients include Humboldt County, Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, and Everytown for Gun Safety.

Mary has co-authored many books, articles, and papers in the areas of organization and leadership development, consulting, and change management including Collaborative Change: Improving Organizational Performance (Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer, 1998) with Roger James. She is also the author of Talk Matters! Solving Complex Issues Through Brain Science, Mindful Awareness, and Effective Process (Friesen Press, 2017).
