(Cambridge, MA)
— A senior team of Interaction Associates’ experts in collaboration and navigating
change will participate in a world cafe dialog on global issues at the
Vancouver Peace Summit sponsored by the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and
Education, scheduled for September 26-29 in Vancouver British Columbia.
The
summit’s focus is Nobel Laureates in Dialogue and it features His Holiness the
Dalai Lama with noted Nobel Peace Prize winners and international leaders from
the fields of education, the arts, business, politics, and social
transformation.
“We
are honored to be part of this event — specifically to foster conversations
about cross-sector collaboration and how the business world and social sector
can work together to help bring positive change in the world,” said Linda
Dunkel, President and CEO of Interaction Associates. “Collaboration and
values-based leadership are important themes in our work with business leaders
and in efforts to advance important social issues,” added Dunkel.
Dunkel
will lead the IA team in Vancouver,
which will draw on IA’s deep experience with the nonprofit it founded, The
Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC). IA created the Institute in
1993 as a vehicle for moving the firm’s values into action in the non-profit
and public sectors. IA helps to fund IISC with a donation of 10% of the firm’s
annual profits.
“Success
at cross-sector collaboration is critical in order to excel at managing change
and having impact,” added Dunkel, who is Chair of the Board for World Centers
of Compassion for Children International (WCCCI). In that capacity, Dunkel
focuses on international children’s issues with the organization’s founder,
Nobel Peace Prize winner, Betty Williams.
