On Working at IA
I've enjoyed freelancing for years, avoiding bigger corporations and the generalizations of big business operations. A former client of mine warned me from his experience to expect no recognition of skill or appreciation of effort when I made the move from consulting work to being employed by a larger organization. I can say that my experience here has proved much different: I feel constantly rewarded to work here, with skilled people who are recognized individually and as part of a team.
More About Me
I'm interested in art and art history. I have a BFA in Illustration. I was one of the few students awake and sitting upright during the slides portion of Art History courses in college!I believe that people have "skill" versus "talent", and that art as a creative act happens in people of all disciplines. My skill in the kitchen creates edible masterpieces to appease my love of art and food, satisfying a daily desire for both.
What I Care About
I believe the key to happiness is appreciation. There is no fleeting feeling about being happy for the seemingly simple things in life, as they are large gifts.
It often makes my day to think about family or friends, or just being able to live another day in health. I often appreciate people in this world, and like to see others doing the same.
