(Boston, MA) The 40-year innovator of advanced methods for developing leaders — Interaction Associates (IA) — will co-present with Bank of Hawaii at the 2011 HCI Engagement & Retention Conference.

The session will share how Bank of Hawaii — consistently the #1-rated bank by Forbes Magazine — is aligning its human capital mission with its business strategy to drive results. IA develops cultures of collaboration inside companies to achieve extraordinary results, through developing leaders at all levels who involve employees in sharing responsibility for the success of the business.

The annual HCI Institute conference will be held at Navy Pier, Chicago, IL, from July 12-13, and the IA/Bank of Hawaii session takes place July 12 at 4 p.m.

Speakers Jamie Harris, Chair of the Board and Senior Consultant for Interaction Associates, and Jean Hamakawa, Executive Vice President and Director of HR for Bank of Hawaii will show how Bank of Hawaii is seizing the opportunity to outcompete other banks in its market through a comprehensive human capital strategy. The session will answer the urgent question for many engagement professionals today: "How can I encourage senior executive leadership to take ownership of the human capital mission?"

"We are delighted to share Bank of Hawaii’s powerful ongoing story with the leaders participating in the HCI Engagement and Retention Conference," said Linda Stewart, President and CEO of Interaction Associates. "Trust, involvement, and retention of high performers — these are factors that drive a company's success. Bank of Hawaii maintains consistently high employee engagement scores, and have been rated the “Number One US Bank” two years in a row by Forbes Magazine, so their experience and insights will be valuable," she added.

IA research over three years on the intersecting areas of trust, leadership and collaboration has revealed the common characteristics of high-performing organizations. Leadership behaviors uncovered by Interaction Associates’ research have been called the "formula for success" by T+D Magazine.
