On Working at IA

My passion is to assist individuals, groups, departments and whole systems to reach across boundaries of gender, geography, education, training, or heritage and collaborate to co-create a better world. Working at IA allows me to name this as both my work and my calling.

More About Me

I am a native of Dublin Ireland and am married to the beautiful Mary Browne from Clay Center, Kansas. We have two sons, John, six, and Michael Francis, three.

I love nothing better than to relax to the music of Robert Zimmerman — aka Bob Dylan — played loudly!! To accompany me on a long journey by air, I will dip into Staying Alive-Real Poems for Unreal Times, edited by Neil Astley (Miramax Books).

Recommended Books

Leadership on the Line-Staying Alive through the Dangers of Leading, Heifetz and Linsky (HBS Press), The Art of Possibility — Transforming Professional and Personal Life, Zander and Zander (Penguin Books)

What I Care About

Coming from the first world, I am very conscious of how much we consume. I am conscious of the ambiguity of how big a carbon footprint I am leaving as I use the airplane to travel to demonstrate the power and transfer the capability of collaboration (IA's mission). I feel compelled and called to work for a planet that will be cleaner and more whole for my children and their children.
